We had Dave’s brother staying with us this week. The kids all love Uncle Dylan. He has little noisy shadows wherever he goes.
I saw a great article about random acts of kindness and it’s effects. It’s a short read, but I definitely got the warm fuzzies. Read it here.
We are nearing the end of the 3.5 months of Proactive Acts of Kindness for my family. If you haven’t read the back story, you can find it here. And if you’d like to join us, you can do that here. I am typing the word here a lot! I’m so proud of all of you that are participating by being a Proactive Partner!
Dave & I were on the receiving end of an act of kindness at a Starbucks recently. It was the end of the night and we drove through, ordering some drinks and 2 blueberry muffins. Once at the window, they gave us the rest of the blueberry muffins that they had. We had a great breakfast the next morning!
This is what we’ve accomplished this week:
PAOK # 32 – Dave put coins in the meters out side of his office, so nobody would get a ticket for running out of time.
PAOK # 33 – I helped an elderly lady with her groceries at the store. That’s always a bit sketchy, you never know if they are going to feel insulted when you ask if you can help. BUT it’s worth the risk because you never know when a person truly needs help.
I’m currently working on putting a blog post together that I’ll post in a day or two. It’s so amazing and exciting, the trouble is finding words that accurately express that. I’m not even sure there are any. Incredible? Unbelievable? Orgasmic? Awesome? Hrm, no, it’s better than all of those. And I have pictures.
You are an inspiring family with an inspired idea. I told my husband about it as he was flying out the door to work – and he said he’d bring home a story of at least one gesture o kindness today. He’s quite kind normally so it won’t be too much of a stress.
I too will take on a commitment to seek out and offer ways to pass it forward.
