Meaningful Mondays Week 16

I received this email recently and I’m so touched by these children and their generosity!  They are learning a gift that will last a lifetime – compassion for fellow humans.

Dear Friends,

The MOSAICS@Craig class has started a fund to help Japan, those people who were affected by the tsunami and the current nuclear power plant explosions.

Our campaign is titled: “1,000 Paper Cranes to Benefit Japan.”

We will hopefully be folding as many pieces of origami as possible (with the help of other selected students, as well), which would sell for $1.00 each to send to the American Red Cross’s Japan Relief Fund.

This is for all of you!  Thank you all for your support of MOSAICS@Craig’s “1,000 Paper Cranes to Benefit Japan!”
Those who spend $25 or more on our “1,000 Paper Cranes to Benefit Japan” fund, you shall receive our limited edition giant crane origami instead of the smaller cranes. You shall also receive a personal handwritten letter of gratitude.  Both will be written, worked, and signed by Mr. Sample.
I remember this song and its original campaign as I was an elementary school student.  It meant a lot to me, at that time.  I hope it means as much to you, at this time.

We are the world!  Thank you for helping those around the globe that need us!

If you would like to contribute to our “1,000 Paper Cranes to Benefit Japan”…
Please, make checks payable to: “The American Red Cross” and send to:

We Are The World by Michael Jackson and Lionel Ritchie
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ne7fPpxAnuM

“There comes a time
When we head a certain call
When the world must come together as one
There are people dying
And it’s time to lend a hand to life
The greatest gift of all

We can’t go on
Pretneding day by day
That someone, somewhere will soon make a change
We are all a part of
God’s great big family
And the truth, you know love is all we need

[Chorus]
We are the world
We are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So let’s start giving
There’s a choice we’re making
We’re saving our own lives
It’s true we’ll make a better day
Just you and me

Send them your heart
So they’ll know that someone cares
And their lives will be stronger and free
As God has shown us by turning stone to bread
So we all must lend a helping hand

[Chorus]
We are the world
We are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So let’s start giving
There’s a choice we’re making
We’re saving our own lives
It’s true we’ll make a better day
Just you and me

When you’re down and out
There seems no hope at all
But if you just believe
There’s no way we can fall
Well, well, well, well, let us realize
That a change will only come
When we stand together as one

[Chorus]
We are the world
We are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So let’s start giving
There’s a choice we’re making
We’re saving our own lives
It’s true we’ll make a better day
Just you and me”

THANK YOU ALL!

Mr. Sample and his MOSAICS@Craig Students!

One dollar to encourage children in the art of giving, plus helping people effected by a life altering tragedy. Kudos to Mr Sample and his students! Let’s help them reach their goal!
