oh and the groupies…. Ok, I might be exaggerating a tiny bit, but Erin from $5 dinners came into town and we somehow went to 3 TV stations in 3 or 4 hours. I don’t remember exactly because it was SO freaking early in the morning. I think I left my house at 4am. I don’t think I brushed my hair. Erin, however, looked like a rockstar. And she was so together and she was getting around St. Louis better than I could!
In this economy, who wouldn’t be excited about making a dinner for your family for under $5? If you have a larger family or like to cook large meals for leftovers, check out her site on Thursdays. Some girls & I take turns writing up recipes that work for our larger families.
So, why all the TV stations? Thanks for asking! Erin’s new book is out! It’s a breakfast & lunch cook book and she showed all of STL how to make some of her best recipes. It was interesting being in the studios, mingling with the people who give me my news in the mornings. I was disappointed I didn’t get to see Glenn Zimmerman though. He’s my favorite meteorologist. Are people supposed to have favorite meteorologists?? Where were you Glenn??
Anyway, we had a lot of fun at the studios and went out to brunch after to relax! Erin is exactly as she is on her website and in her books. So down to earth and friendly. After emailing & phone calls the past couple of months, it felt like I was meeting up with an old friend. And of course we used a coupon at brunch!
You can get copies of her books 2 ways, buy them from her website. Or win them (autographed!) from my next blogpost! *stay tuned!
